NEW ADOPTER SUPPORT
New Adopter Head Start
You just brought your dog home. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
Early guidance, training, and support for the first weeks with your newly adopted dog.
A Little Guidance Early
Can Make A Big Difference
Bringing home a newly adopted dog is supposed to be exciting. But for a lot of people, those first few weeks can become overwhelming surprisingly fast.
Maybe your dog barks every time someone comes over. Maybe they panic when you leave. Maybe walks are already stressful. Or maybe nothing is wrong at all, and you just want to make sure you’re starting off on the right foot. I’ve met too many people who absolutely love their new dog but suddenly feel like their entire life revolves around managing them.
The New Adopter Head Start was created because I want to meet you before it gets to that point. Whether things are going great, you’ve got a few questions, or it’s already starting to feel like a lot, this is for you.
You don’t need to wait until you’re frustrated or overwhelmed. Sometimes the most helpful thing we can do is get involved early, understand the dog in front of us, put a few good habits in place, and address small concerns before they have time to become bigger ones.
And sometimes what you need most is reassurance. Not everything you see during those first few weeks is a problem that needs to be fixed.
New Adopter Head Start is available to anyone who has adopted or rehomed a dog within the past 30 days.

WHEN SHOULD WE MEET?
The Sweet Spot Is
Usually 10–21 Days
In most cases, around 10 to 21 days after bringing your dog home is a great time for us to meet.
That gives your dog a little time to settle while still allowing us to get involved early.
You don’t have to wait until then to schedule. You can reserve your Head Start as soon as you bring your dog home, or even before they arrive.
And if something is already becoming difficult, we may want to meet sooner.

A NEW ADOPTER'S EXPERIENCE
“Louis came to my home for the consultation and by the end of it I could already see improvements. He was able to see Surf in his comfort area and outside. This helped him really understand Surf. He took his time and listened to my concerns and Surf's needs." — Surf’s Owner
