Meet Louis

I've been training dogs professionally for more than 15 years, but I didn't start out with some lifelong plan to become a dog trainer.

I started working in a dog daycare and quickly became fascinated by the dogs who needed more than exercise. The ones who were fearful, reactive, difficult to handle, or simply misunderstood. I wanted to understand why they behaved the way they did and what actually helped them change.

That led me to Triple Crown Academy, now Starmark Academy, where I studied obedience, behavior modification, and canine learning theory.

In 2012, I founded Ace Pet Services. For years, I worked with dogs through training, boarding, and behavior work. In 2025, that business became Magnetic Dog Training, with a much clearer focus: helping dogs and their people build the skills and confidence to handle real life together.

Over the years, one thing has become increasingly clear to me. The dog is only half the equation.

I love figuring dogs out, but I love helping people just as much. I treat my clients like capable adults, give them clear information, and teach them how to make good decisions when I'm not standing beside them.

I don't believe in one method for every dog. I use the full toolbox, including prong and e-collars when they're the right fit for the dog in front of me, and I'm always upfront about what I'm using and why. No mystery, no judgment.

I also work with Rescue City and Badass Animal Rescue, supporting foster dogs and adopters through training and behavior challenges. I have enormous respect for the people willing to open their homes to dogs who need another chance, and being able to help them is one of my favorite parts of this work.

The goal is simple: understand the dog in front of us, build a plan that makes sense for your life, and leave you more confident than I found you.
